We had a great day of exploring recently – starting off at the former Moss Electrical Company warehouses, the proposed site of our Engine Room or project hub.
It is here that we envisage designers, makers and members of the local community coming together to create value out of ‘waste’. It was great to imagine the ways in which the space we saw could be used.
Further exploration in the area led us to GreEn 16 – a previously empty, urban space that had been transformed by residents into a garden, with vegetables and flowers being grown in builders bags!
That coming weekend, the twenty-one families using the garden were due to have a barbecue together to mark the end of their first summer. A brilliant initiative which really seemed to have drawn the local community together – all in all, a very inspiring day!
