A constructive week

Construction on the Canning Town site has been moving along at a pace this week!

Rosetta Arts have been preparing the art wall, ready for the artists to get painting at the Festival of Upcycling pre-launch event this coming weekend.

The site hoarding is now emblazoned with INDUSTRI[US], thanks to Crona and Terence’s hard work. Anchor House have also been working on the hoarding, helping to ‘break through’ (so passers by can take a peek at what’s going on!) by constructing a mesh screen and putting up gates to make a new site entrance.

Local Newham volunteers have been very busy too – planting up many of the plants left over from the Chelsea Flower Show and laying paving in our pop-up public square.

Our Canning Town Giant has put on weight too thanks to ROBOTS>>>> – he now has a body, legs and arms and is looking forward to getting a head and hands next week!

Anchor House volunteer with [us]

Residents from nearby Anchor House are volunteering on site. Work experience with Serco and Groundwork UK provides them with a certificate, reference and priority when paid traineeships become available.
